映像作品《双生児の記憶のかたち》2025年

 

一卵性双生児である妹と自身の顔写真を重ね、それを金属板に転写し、金鎚で打ち、叩く。鍛金行為によって徐々に変化していく顔は、妹でも自身でもない、別の誰かのようになっていく。同時に、妹が解離状態で執筆した小説『え・き・す・と・ら』を朗読した音声を映像に重ねる。たしかに自分自身の声のはずなのに、次第に妹の声へと置き換わっていくような、奇妙な錯覚を覚える。

本文の端々には、幼少期から現在に至るまで、彼女を取り巻いてきた痛みの記憶が垣間見える。それは「妹の記憶」なのか、それとも「私たちの記憶」なのか──。

Video Work: The Shape of Twin Memories, 2025

I overlay photographs of my identical twin sister and myself, transfer them onto metal plates, and hammer and punch them. Through the metalworking process, the faces gradually transform, becoming neither hers nor mine, but someone else's. Simultaneously, I layer audio recordings of me reading aloud my sister's novel Éki-su-to-ra, written during her dissociative state, over the images. I experience a strange illusion: though it should be my own voice, it gradually replaces hers.

Throughout the text, fragments of painful memories surrounding her emerge, spanning from childhood to the present. Are these “my sister's memories,” or are they “our memories”?
